Festival At The Edge
As some of you may be aware, Festival at the Edge has recently lost its regular funding from Arts Council England, as have 196 other organisations. Obviously this news has come as a great disappointment to all connected with the festival. Despite the costs of last years floods, and our loss of funding, Festival ‘08 will definitely be taking place (see artists appearing on the website http://www.festivalattheedge.org) with the usual mix of great performers, an exciting children’s programme, craft stalls, and of course the CAMRA bar.
The loss of funding will have an obvious bearing on this year’s and future festivals but the committee are looking at various other possible funding and sponsorship sources. After 17 years of volunteering huge amounts of time and energy to such a fantastic and unique festival, we will try our utmost to secure its future as a world-class festival of story and song.
The committee would like to take this opportunity to thank Bridgnorth District Council for their continued and valued funding support. We would also like to pass on our sincere thanks to all the hardy festival goers and performers who have helped make Festival at the Edge the success it is and hope we can count on your continued support well into the future.
The committee would also like to pass on their best wishes to all other organisations facing the same situation and hope they are successful in finding alternative financial support.
