Special Interest Groups
Many members have an interest in the telling or use of stories in particular settings.
To cater for these interests, SfS has a network of Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
The existing SIGs are:
Storytelling In Business
Storytelling In Health & Therapy Settings
Storytelling In Faith and Religion
Storytelling In Education
Storytelling in Libraries
Storytelling in Museums & Heritage
There are links below to further information relevant to these specialist areas.
Each SIG has a Special Interest Group Organiser. The job of the Organiser is:
• To act as the first point of contact for anyone interested in storytelling within their particular context.
• To know something about their SIG members and their use of storytelling.
• To help put members of the SIG in touch with others who have a similar interest.
• To contact all members of their SIG at least once a year to foster networking, sharing, cooperation and collaboration between members.
As a member of SfS you can be put in touch with other SIG members in order to network and exchange information with others of similar interests.
Please, email the Secretary if you would like further information, to join the Society, to let us know your interest in a particular SIG, to express an interest in becoming/assisting a SIG Organiser, or to start a new SIG. There is scope for new SIGs in a number of areas; we currently have in mind:
Storytelling clubs, circles and groups
Environment and community
Prisons
Young storytellers
