I tell to children of most ages, including the very young, but have also told to adults, trainee play group leaders, student teachers, social workers and young offenders. I often use ‘props’ and puppets and occasionally song. I like audiences to participate wherever possible.

I tell all sorts of tales from all over but am particularly interested in trickster and fool stories and in folk and wonder tales from England, Europe generally and the Middle East. I read and speak French and Spanish and sometimes use stories from these languages. I have told English, Norse and Greek hero tales.

I am also a glove-puppeteer and for over 30 years now I have been doing Punch and Judy professionally. (Two other shows feature Anansi and Brer Rabbit.) I am involved in folk song as both singer and writer - several of my songs have been recorded and are sung in folk clubs. I am an amateur theatre director and actor. I am a member of Equity.

I hold an enhanced CRB disclosure certificate.
