Kirsty has been telling stories professionally to adults and children since 2000.  She came to storytelling with a lifelong love of stories and the past, and a background in drama, history and education.  She has performed in theatres, bookshops, festivals, woods, museums, gatherings, parties, libraries and cafes around the country, solo and with the storytelling company Fire Springs. 

She has a special interest in telling stories for the heritage industry, in which she has worked for more than ten years as an educator, storyteller and curator. 

Kirsty has a relaxed fireside style suitable for intimate gatherings, but is equally comfortable with high-energy, theatre-style performance.  She enjoys telling traditional tales from all over the world, and also stories drawn from history, often interweaving elements of art, science or myth.  She is a writer too, has lived abroad, enjoys travelling and likes to bring local colour to all her storytelling.
