Pete Chand combines talents with music producer PKCtheFirst to bring a fresh UK twist to traditional tales collected from South Asian elders. This show celebrates the art of live storytelling, fusing a unique blend of Urban Hip Hop and classical South Asian sounds. Together, Peter and PKCtheFirst present a unique audience experience which bridges cultures and generations.

One of only a handful of full-time Indian storytellers working in Britain today, Peter’s performances have been described as: energetic, totally engaging, and always told with warmth and great relish. Born in the Midlands, Peter grew up using Punjabi as his first language. He combines these two cultures seamlessly to tell stories full of life, wisdom, and humour. He has entertained audiences all over Europe and beyond with his tales from the Indian subcontinent, collected from communities in India and the UK.  Made possible by support from Cambridge City Council and Cambridge University for Black History Month and India Unboxed.

“No words to express how fantastic it was. All I can say is WOW! I couldn’t sleep … Was still thinking of those stories!” – Alchemy Festival Southbank Centre London
