Storyteller Directory Entry

Daisy Black

I am a storyteller, medievalist and lecturer in English Literature at the University of Wolverhampton. As an academic, I specialise in medieval mystery and morality drama.

I tell a range of short and long medieval stories, including stories from Chaucer, Lydgate, the fabliaux and Anglo Saxon poetry, and I am currently working on a new show, ‘The Bayeux Tapestry: The Full Yarn’. I thread my storytelling with folk songs and movement, and love performing in unusual spaces.

I also research, write and produce special storytelling events for heritage sites and exhibitions, and have worked for groups as diverse as the Royal College of Physicians (London), Chetham’s Library (Manchester), the National Waterfront Museum (Swansea), Manchester Cathedral and Manchester Histories Festival.
