Storyteller Directory Entry

Cath Edwards

I tell stories to adult audiences, family audiences, very young children, school-age children and children and young people with special needs (particularly SLD, ASC and PMLD). I work in a wide range of settings, from libraries and schools to festivals, storytelling clubs and museums, and I am able to adapt my repertoire and approach to suit a range of needs and requirements. I am a successful and experienced trainer and I can tailor a workshop to fit most needs.

I learnt a love of folklore and stories as a small child. As an adult I told stories to my own children, as a teacher, worked with children through story and for many years I have enjoyed telling stories to adult audiences. My repertoire is largely based on traditional and folk tales, and I revel in sourcing stories, making them my own and passing them on so that my audiences can love them as much as I do. I am co-host of two storytelling clubs for adults, but I also love to bring the experience of being involved in story to the very young and those with special needs.
